RAINWATER PIPES

SEQUENCE

  1. Check that drain connection is in correct position and ensure any remedial work necessary is carried out.
  2. Install pipes using a spirit level to check for vertical alignment.
    1. Eared Sockets
      1. Pipes fixed at collar position only - no intermediate fixings necessary.
      2. If no shoe is used, a collar bracket should be used at the base of the pipe.
    2. Plain Collar Downpipes
      1. Fixing brackets should be fitted under the collar (and at extra components). No intermediate bracket is required.
  3. Stainless steel hammer screws should be used for fixing into masonry.
  4. Joints should be dry.
  5. If pipes are fitted over expansion joints, a slot will have to be put in the bracket.
